Inspiration from the Field

The Peninsula – Bronx, NYC (NYCEDC)

Redeveloped a former youth jail into 100% affordable housing, artist studios, local food production, and community services. NYCEDC led early community visioning and land control, unlocking equitable outcomes through public-private coordination.
The Philadelphia Navy Yard (PIDC)

The Philadelphia Navy Yard (PIDC)

Transformed 1,200 acres of underused waterfront into a national innovation district. PIDC provided land stewardship, infrastructure investment, and minority-led development partnerships to ensure lasting, inclusive growth.

Over-the-Rhine (3CDC – Cincinnati)

Revitalized a disinvested neighborhood with restored parks, cultural landmarks, and mixed-income housing. 3CDC coordinated public and private capital to support minority-owned businesses and long-term affordability.
