The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex has been a community landmark since the late 1990s. Built to give Austin youth and families a safe, affordable place for recreation, the 55,000 sq ft facility has hosted everything from skating to movies. With support from the Cultural Trust, part of the complex will now become a true performing arts space, extending MYEC’s role as a hub for community connection.

  • March 2022
    Call for Proposals

    Rally Austin issues the Cultural Trust Call for Proposals and begins reviewing submissions, including the MYEC proposal to convert its cinema into a performing arts space.

  • October 2023
    Cultural Trust Agreement Executed

    Rally ATX, ARCDC, and ASM Global sign a 20-year agreement designating the MYEC theater improvements as part of the Cultural Trust Program, with $400,000 in City bond funding committed.

    Theater Improvements Installed

    Planned construction and upgrades convert 1,800 sq ft of theater into a functional performing arts space, opening the venue for new cultural programming.
